How to run your first quiz
From a blank account to the final scores. It takes about ten minutes the first time.
1. Get a quiz
- Sign in at joltquiz.com and open Quizzes.
- Pick a ready-made quiz from the library, or press Write a quiz and add your own rounds and questions.
- Got your questions in a spreadsheet? Use Import a spreadsheet - the template and the rules are in the spreadsheet guide.
Mini-games can go in between rounds: each gap has its own Mini-game picker.
2. Open the room
- Press Run a quiz at the top.
- Pick how the room plays: everyone on their own, tables with a captain, or mixed.
- Press Start quiz on your quiz. The lobby opens with a join code.
3. Put it on the big screen
- Press Open big screen and cast it to a TV, send it to a projector, or open it in a window.
- The big screen shows the join code and a QR code. Names pop up as people join.
- Players go to joltquiz.com and type the code, or scan the QR. No app, no account.

4. Run the questions
- Press Start to begin, then Next to move on. A question goes up and its timer runs.
- Lock now stops answers early. Reveal shows the right answer and scores everyone.
- Leaderboard puts the scores up whenever you like.
- When you are done, End quiz shows the final scores and the winners.
Every night's results are kept under Past quizzes.
