Paste this one line into your website where you want the quiz to appear. It counts down to your next booked quiz, shows the join code and QR the moment the doors open, and shows Live now while you play — updating by itself, in about a second.

Big screen player for your website
Paste this line on any page of your website, the same way as the card. Before a quiz it shows the countdown; the moment the doors open it shows your big screen, live as it happens, with a full screen button; when the quiz ends it goes back. It uses the look you set below, CSS included. It is not a video, so it costs nothing to watch.
Your live page
The address of the page you put the big screen player on, like a Host Games or Live page. When the doors open, the card's Watch live button takes people there.
Where to paste it
- WordPress: add a Custom HTML block to a page and paste it in.
- Wix: Add → Embed code → Embed HTML, choose Code, paste it in.
- Squarespace: add a Code block and paste it in.
- Shopify: Online Store → Customise → add a Custom Liquid section.
- Anything else: paste it into the page's HTML where the card should go.
How it looks

Book a quiz night
Book a quiz for a date and time. The room opens by itself when the doors open, and your website card counts down to it. You run the night from the host panel as usual.

Camera
Not set upShow yourself live on the big screen and on your players' phones, less than a second behind. The camera runs on your own free Cloudflare account, so it is not part of your JoltQuiz plan: Cloudflare gives you 1,000 GB of video every month free, then charges $0.05 per GB. A two-hour quiz with 100 people watching the camera on their phones uses about 110 GB. The big screen in your venue counts as one.
Your camera is provided by JoltQuiz. There is nothing to set up.
- Make a free account at dash.cloudflare.com (skip this if you already have one).
- In the menu on the left, open Realtime (it may be called Calls), then Serverless SFU, and press Create. Call it something like “Quiz camera”.
- Cloudflare shows an App ID and an App Token (sometimes called the App Secret). Copy both — the token is only shown once.
- Paste them below and press Save and check. We check them with Cloudflare straight away, then keep the token locked away; nobody can see it again, including you.
- Open a room, and press Go live in the host panel's camera card.

API keys
For connecting JoltQuiz to your own systems — a script that uploads quizzes or opens a room without anyone pressing a button. Most venues never need one.
API keys come with Quiz Master.
Copy this now — it is stored hashed and cannot be shown again.
Website player links
OffFor a website whose visitors already have accounts — a members' club, a school, a shop. It sends each person to the quiz with a link signed with this key, so they play under the name the website knows them by, come back as the same player on another phone, and the results show the website's own reference for each player.
Copy this into the website's settings now — it is not stored and cannot be shown again. Making a new key stops every link made with the old one.
How the website makes a link
The link is /j/CODE?t=BODY.SIG on this site. BODY is
base64url of a small JSON object: c the room's join code,
r your own reference for the person (up to 128 characters),
n the name to play under (up to 32), and e the time the
link stops working, in Unix seconds. SIG is base64url of HMAC-SHA256 of BODY,
keyed with the whole key above. Add &cam=1 for people watching
from home and they see your camera above the questions.
A room can also be set to invited players only, so nobody can join without a link.
